We’re thrilled to announce our participation in the 2024-2025 FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) season: “Into The Deep” presented by RTX. Our teams, 8872 and 13190, are gearing up for an exciting underwater adventure!
About the Game
“Into The Deep” challenges teams to dive their robots into a simulated ocean environment, exploring the unknown and revealing its wonders. This season, we’ll be putting our STEM skills and creativity to the test as we navigate the depths of this aquatic-themed competition.
Game Overview
Playing Field
The game takes place on a 12-foot square field with a foam tile floor and 1-foot high walls. At the center is a submersible structure containing various game elements.
Key Game Elements
- Samples: Plastic objects that robots collect and score
- Clips: Used by human players to create specimens
- Submersible: Contains barriers, rungs, and chambers
- Baskets: Low and high scoring areas
- Observation Zones: Areas for depositing samples
- Ascent Zones: Climbing areas for endgame points
Scoring Opportunities
- Depositing samples in the Observation Zone
- Creating and hanging specimens on chambers
- Climbing during the endgame (Low-level: 15 points, High-level: 30 points)
- Parking in the Observation Zone (3 points)
