About Us

FTC robotics.

This is team 8872 Robopocalypse’s ninth year competing in FTC. Our team has improved greatly since the first year of our existence. Not only do we have the team, but we have also created several clubs at our school including a 3D Club and a Robotics Club for students desiring knowledge and experience that they won’t usually get in normal classes. In 3D Club, members learn to use powerful tools like Blender and Fusion 360, while in Robotics Club, members build cool robots to complete all kinds of tasks.

Our team organization has remained about the same over the years. We have three departments: hardware, software, and business. Our departments all work very closely with each other in order to construct a competitive robot. For example, the hardware team often helps the software team build a test chassis that can be used for programming movement. This allows our mechanical team to work on the main mechanism of the robot. Our business team manages this website, keeps track of expenses, and advises the rest of the team with proper ways to use our funds. They also work on sending emails to local companies for funding and sponsorships. This year, our focus on our journal is to keep it up to date with what each group is working on and to take pictures of the different stages of the programming and building process.

Team 13190

In the past years, we have had more enthusiastic people wanting to join the team than we could offer. This is how our sister team, 13190 Roblivion came into existence. Last season, they put out a strong performance and were able to qualify for the Norcal regional competition for the first time!
